Oconto Unified School District has a vacancy for a Middle School Administrative Assistant. The role of the OMS Administrative Assistant is to provide confidential administrative support to the building principal and staff. The primary responsibilities of this position include: Communication: The administrative assistant acts as a liaison between the principal's office and the public, students, parents, and staff. They communicate information and respond to inquiries in person and through various communication channels such as phone, email, and written correspondence. Main office duties: The administrative assistant performs various administrative tasks in the main office. This may include managing the principal's calendar, scheduling appointments and meetings, maintaining office supplies, and handling incoming and outgoing mail. Problem-solving: The administrative assistant assists in resolving issues and concerns brought forward by students, parents, or staff members. They may listen to concerns, gather relevant information, provide appropriate guidance, or escalate the matter to the principal or relevant personnel for further action. Ordering materials: The administrative assistant is responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies necessary for the smooth functioning of the office. This may include office stationery, equipment, and other materials required by staff members. Record keeping: The administrative assistant is responsible for maintaining and organizing various records, files, and documents. This may include student records, attendance records, and other administrative paperwork. Overall, the OMS Administrative Assistant is crucial in facilitating effective communication, providing administrative support, and ensuring efficient office operations within the school's administrative structure. Qualified candidates should submit a resume and (3) letters of recommendation. Internal candidates do not have to submit letters of recommendation. High School Diploma or GED Required. Preference is given to those with an Administrative Assistant Degree (or related) plus at least one year of office/secretarial experience.
