Oconto Unified School District has a vacancy for a District Nurse. Qualified applicants must possess an RN License. Experience in a school health room or school nursing is strongly preferred. Current CPR Certification is required. **Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. **Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully and positively with parents, staff, and students in a school environment. **Acts as a liaison between parents and the community, schools, and appropriate health professionals. **Assists in the development, delegation, and supervision of appropriate treatment procedures. **Maintains records of services provided to students following appropriate confidentiality guidelines. Assesses the healthcare needs of children and provides health accommodations to reduce barriers to learning. **Provides direct nursing care for the health and illness needs of individuals during the school day and provides emergency nursing services as necessary. **Constructs the health component of the IEP, 504 Plan, and emergency health plan after analysis and synthesis of medical and health data. **Participates as a contributing member of the IEP team responsible for summarizing and documenting health needs in formal reports. Participates with other team members to interpret medical histories and test results related to developmental and cognitive levels. **Provides counseling regarding health concerns to students and families. Assists students and families in obtaining appropriate healthcare services. **Maintains current knowledge base on healthcare and nursing issues by attending seminars, conferences, and reading professional literature. **Performs other duties as assigned.
