The Greendale School District is accepting applications for a Student Database Administrator. This position will work to improve the accuracy and efficiency of all district data systems. They will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, creating, and implementing connections between district database resources to further student success and learning. Situated in the southwest suburban Milwaukee, Greendale Schools is home to more than 2,700 students. Serves as a system administrator for data systems and maintains data integrity including the management and implementation of customized data fields. Leads the evaluation of existing and new data systems and develops a strategic plan for implementation and upgrades. Designs and develops data exports using program interface tools as well as customized scripts as needed. Skilled at presentation of data through reports, applications, and dashboards. Manages security and backup of all district data sources. Produces system and user documentation during the development of systems. Responsible for end user training to improve productivity using existing and customized programs. Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved. Researches process and data errors and develops systems to reduce the amount of errors. Assists personnel in implementing standards and procedures for management of data. Performs a wide range of activities associated with application analysis, programming, and design functions. Develops or acquires system data, runs testing and debugs data to produce required results and revising the programs to ensure accuracy of data reports. Evaluates user requests for new or modified programs, determines feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities. Aids in the evaluation of software and system requests to ensure compatibility with existing systems. Stays current on trends and developments in data technologies. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Work experience in database management and integration. Experience in SQL Server to create and work with queries, stored procedures, databases, tables, relationships, and importing/exporting data. Experience in SQL Reporting Services, Database Maintenance and Tuning, .NET, PHP, and HTML programming Technical skills, including SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), understanding of SQL statements/queries, stored procedures, and SQL Server performance monitor. Maintains a knowledge base in emerging technology. Strong decision-making and organizational skills, willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Eye for detail; strong analytical skills. Ability to keep an accurate system of records. Ability to work on mathematical and detailed material. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary. Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Demonstrated appreciation and respect for diversity and ability to promote this appreciation within the school community.
