Description: The School District of Rhinelander has a Reading Teacher opening for the 2023-2024 school year.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. A valid teacher’s license (certificate) issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
2. A valid 1316 or 1317 license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction or the willingness to obtain either licensure.
3. Two years of teaching experience is preferred.
4. Knowledge of instructional practices based on the science of reading.
5. Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively within the classroom.
6. Demonstrates leadership and ability to work effectively with parents; demonstrates skill in organizing student, parent, and/or teacher programs; and demonstrates ability to choose appropriate materials and supplies for the reading program.

Building Principal
JOB GOAL
Work in coordination with classroom teacher(s) to provide daily reading instruction during the EL skills block to develop proficient readers. Collaborate and provide leadership to ensure the reading program delivers educational experiences that meet the needs of the students and staff served.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow district procedures for implementation of the schoolwide Title 1, targeted Title 1 or other school improvement plan.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, instructional coaches, and the district reading specialist to coordinate program activities.
Establish a schedule and assist in developing and delivering reading activities.
Participate in meetings to plan strategies for students in an equitable multi-level system of support.
Provide instruction for the whole class, small group, and/or individual students as determined by building needs.
Provide leadership, as needed, in the components of the schoolwide Title 1 or other school improvement plan.
Maintain records and reports as necessary.
Communicate with parents and classroom teachers in relation to student progress.
Provide input to the building principal concerning reading instruction and school reading data.
Participate in professional growth activities to maintain current practice and theory.
Performs other duties as assigned.
