Full Time
The School District of Jefferson is seeking to fill a Technology Education teaching position. This position is part of a Career & Technology Education Department that is recognized as one of the most energized and developing CTE departments in all of southern Wisconsin. In addition, our community passed a $34 million referendum that includes the updating of our Technology and Agriculture educational spaces that we are excited to be a part of! This position will offer students experiences in a wide variety of courses, including engineering, woodworking, construction, manufacturing and STEM certified classes.
Educators with certification in Project Lead the Way, agriculture and/or automotive are also strongly
encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
-Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide whole group, small group, and individualized
instruction by adapting the district-approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil
-Deliver a comprehensive technology education curriculum in the areas of engineering, construction, and
manufacturing
-Work collaboratively as part of a team in planning instruction and delivery of the curriculum
-Establish and maintain rapport with students to ensure an effective learning atmosphere
-Evaluate students' academic growth and maintain appropriate records
-Establish a safe and positive lab environment
-Effectively communicate with parents using various methods
-Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors
-Incorporate technology and student learning styles into the instructional design of lessons
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Experience in teaching Technology Education preferred
-PLTW and/or STEM experience preferred
-Experience with differentiating instruction
-Drive to build a program and sustain relationships with local industry and businesses
-Knowledge of Youth Apprenticeship
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment
-An excellent work ethic
License Requirement:
-Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Technology Education (1220) license, or eligibility to obtain a
license upon being hired
-PLTW and/or STEM Certification preferred
-Candidates with multiple certifications are encouraged to apply
-Candidates with industry experience and working toward DPI licensure are encouraged to apply
