Position Overview: Provide training and technical support to Wisconsin schools with a focus on equitable, safe and healthy schools. Duties and Responsibilities • Collaboratively design, coordinate, and deliver in person or online professional development opportunities to schools, districts, CESAs. Areas may include Restorative Practices, School SBIRT, Social Emotional Learning, Compassion Resilience, School Safety, School-based Mental Health, and other areas of need. • Plan, coordinate, and assist at the Building the Heart of Successful Schools conference • Provide technical assistance and evaluation to follow-up on professional learning • Work with Center Director to develop a state work plan • Assist with development and administration of state-wide needs assessment • Participate in online or in person meetings to coordinate Center projects • Coordinate with the Communications Coordinator to provide consistent messaging and content with CESAs, schools, and other stakeholders • Seek out and collaborate with multiple systems and organizations including, but not limited to schools, CESAs, DPI, and other partners • Serve as a project lead by creating long and short-term goals for the project that contribute to the WISH Center strategic plan, mission, and vision • Assist in the development and implementation of data collection processes, including evaluation activities • Provide timely, accurate reports as needed • Approximately 20% travel is expected (region and state) Knowledge and/or Experience • A master’s degree in a related field and a minimum five years of related experience and/or training, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience. • Knowledge of effective educational prevention and intervention efforts in alcohol and other drug abuse, mental health, trauma, suicide, and violence prevention. • Knowledge of strategies that are evidence-based, best practice or use promising practice models • Knowledge of adult professional learning development and implementation science • Experience providing training and technical assistance • Incorporate and use appropriate technology to enhance professional development, technical assistance, and communication with coworkers and external customers Skills • Able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team • Able to develop and maintain an excellent relationship with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the CESAs, school districts, and other partners • Able to manage multiple task components of program development, training, technical assistance and evaluation • Possess strong human relations and facilitation skills • Comfortable conducting training and speaking in front of large groups of people • Able to develop new training, educational materials and supports • Able to coach school improvement teams and individuals • Maintain and apply up to date learning on equity and culturally responsive practices • Excellent organizational, communication, flexibility, and presentation skills using current technologies • Able to accept and apply feedback to improve performance • Current valid driver’s license Reports to: Wisconsin Safe & Healthy Schools Center Director and CESA Fiscal Agent (A collaboration with the CESA Statewide Network and the Department of Public Instruction) Term of Contract: • Salary: To be negotiated based upon experience, education and length of contract by the CESA home base of employment • Length of contract is 200 days (dependent upon the amount of funding available) • Benefits determined by the CESA home base of employment How to Apply: Interested individuals should apply using the WECAN website. About the Wisconsin Safe & Healthy Schools Center The Wisconsin Safe & Healthy Schools Center was created in July 2012 to provide training and technical assistance on a variety of safe and healthy schools topics. CESA #4 is the fiscal agent and houses the WISH Center Director and Project Coordinators. Four Regional Coordinators provide training and technical assistance throughout the state.
