DescriptionThe Albany School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE Library Media Specialist beginning August 15, 2024.

We seek a Library Media Specialist to work as a collaborative team member to deliver excellent resources and support to help students and staff maximize their learning and teaching experience.


Albany is a K-12 school district in Green County, WI supporting approximately 300 students and 50 staff members.  Albany is a village with 1,100 residents located 25 miles south of Madison, WI. The district is focused on providing excellent educational and extracurricular opportunities for all students. Duties, Responsibilities, and Attributes: 

  • Curate and invest in informational & digital resources and tools 
  • Facilitate professional learning and growth
  • Lead beyond the library
  • Provide a student-centered learning environment
  • Teaching grades 4K-5
  • Enhance and enrich middle school and high school use of library resources
  • Awareness of the social-emotional learning competencies
  • Familiarity with effective, evidence-based classroom management practices and experience both using these strategies as well as supporting staff in their implementation  
  • Experience with facilitating a multi-tiered system of support in the school setting is preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills a plus
  • Strong desire to be part of the fabric of the school community
  • Willingness to attend student events and activities
  • Contribute to the positive culture and climate within the district
  • Maintain appropriate care for confidential student information
  • Actively and appropriately participate in staff development activities, support colleagues, and contribute to personal and professional growth
