The Mineral Point School District is seeking a full-time school psychologist to join the Pupil Services Department. Although district-wide, the current position has a focus at the elementary level as well as supporting students at our alternative high school. A strong candidate will foremost be a team player and passionate about working with students with diverse needs. Candidates should also be knowledgeable about current research and methods, a strong advocate for students and families, and be able to develop relationships with community partners. The person in this role will work closely with other members of the Pupil Services Department including the School Social Worker, School Counselors, School Nurse, and Director of Special Education & Pupil Services. Duties of the school psychologist include: Facilitate individual/small group counseling Implement evidenced based practiced in tiered supports for social, emotional, and behavioral interventions Evaluate progress monitoring and observations data as it relates to tiered interventions (SEL and academic) Coordinate learning plans including those of students in the gifted & talented program and those with 504 Plans Assist with functional behavioral asssessment and develop behavior intervention plans Provide social-emotional and behavioral consultation with parents and teachers Coordinate Student Services Teams for elementary school Collaboration with community partners in order to connect families with necessary resources Provide appropriate professional development for staff Mineral Point Unified School District serves approximately 750 students in grades Pre-K through 12 in the beautiful driftless region of Southwest WI (45 minutes to Madison, 45 Minutes to Dubuque). Staff and administration are dedicated to the PLC process, making bold moves to personalize learning, and giving students voice and choice, while providing a safe and healthy environment in a rural school setting.
