The Unified School District of Antigo is accepting applications for a School Counselor at the Elementary level. The Counselor shall be an integral part of the total instructional program directed toward the growth and development of all students who come from diverse, cultural, economic and ability backgrounds. The Counselor shall also strive to provide a positive atmosphere in which students are encouraged and assisted to develop feelings of acceptance, self-respect, emotional security, and achievement. Must have the ability to work with at-risk student populations. Other skills and abilities: Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, methods and techniques used for assessing emotional and academic needs of individual students; thorough knowledge, training and experience with the developmental levels of students. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the areas of academic and career planning, personal goal setting, and crisis intervention. understanding of multi-level system of support for academics and behavior. Knowledge of trauma sensitive practices. Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team; ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers and administrators. Must understand and comply with all protocols related to data privacy. Consistent and reliable attendance.
