Butternut is a small district with small class sizes. We give students a lot of individual attention to meet their unique learning needs. We have a high poverty rate and high special education populations. This position requires a person who can work independently and still be able to collaborate with others. There are extracurricular opportunities for the right person.
Summary: This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that is focused on teaching middle school students in the areas of math and science. This position requires a team-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, experience in culturally responsive education, and a desire to work with middle school students. The District seeks teachers who are excited to join our community of learners and work collaboratively on developing curriculum and meeting the goals of current initiatives. Our middle school uses a team approach that includes all core subjects. With support from administration and student services departments, it is important that our teachers work in partnership to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
Valid DPI license with teaching certification in applicable grade levels
Demonstrated desire to teach middle school
Knowledge of appropriate use of technology to enhance the learning experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
