School Counselor ($5,000 hiring bonus) Core Knowledge Charter School 1.0 FTE Position to begin on August 22, 2023. Ability to collaborate with building staff in identifying and addressing at-risk behaviors and issues that may affect a student’s success at school. Prior experience with a diverse student population in a high school school setting is preferred. Experience implementing and understanding the core principles of Restorative Justice Awareness of the Social-Emotional Learning competencies, and experience supporting staff to implement SEL practices including, but not limited to, PBIS, Developmental Designs, Second Step and Zones of Regulation. Familiarity with effective, evidence based classroom management practices and experience both using these strategies as well as supporting staff in their implementation. Expertise in trauma informed practices, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and threat assessment procedures. Experience with facilitating a multi-tiered system of support in the school setting is preferred. Prior experience coaching Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) required. Ability to read, write and speak in Spanish a plus. This position is part of the teacher unit. There will be extended days as part of this assignment. This position is eligible for a $5,000 new hire bonus.
