The Antigo School District is seeking applicants for a Special Education teaching position to serve students who have high needs at the Antigo MIddle School; primarily working with students with Autism and Intellectual disabilities. We are seeking someone who is innovative in their approaches to serving students through an equity lens. Essential qualities for this position include: The desire and ability to advocate for equitable access to classrooms based on student needs The ability to build positive relationships with students, families and community partners. The ability to provide high quality accommodations and modification for students to access the general content and environment based on student needs The ability to provide specially designed instruction based on the least restrictive environment for the student. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license required: (1801) Cross-Categorical Or a combination of: (1810) Cognitive Disabilities, (1830) Emotional Behavior Disorders, (1811) Learning Disabilities (1811) Qualifications: ~ Experience and training working with students with diverse needs, including students with Autism and cognitive disabilities ~ Knowledge in designing and conducting Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) ~ Knowledge of RTI systems in both behavior and academic, using data to drive instruction ~ Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care Responsibilities: Collaborate with colleagues, using the Professional Learning Communities framework, including general education teachers, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings Design learning experiences that address the needs of the whole child using either core standards or the alternative learning standards based on the needs of the child Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators Develop positive relationships and engage in open communication with families. Monitor students’ academic and behavioral progress (through data collection and analysis) to guide instructional decisions. Monitor and address IEP goals Antigo is located in Wisconsin's beautiful Northwoods, only 30 minutes from the pristine Wolf River and 45 minutes from Wausau's performing arts center.
