Position Summary: To develop and build equity leadership skills with all district staff. Since DEI work impacts every aspect of our district, the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will not be alone in supporting district wide efforts to build a more inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment in which the dignity of every human person is valued, embraced, celebrated, and protected. They will collaborate with all district staff. Essential Functions: 1. Oversee district equity work. 2. Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster the organization’s diversity goals. 3. Coordinate all staff in collaborative projects to ensure the entire district can achieve equity and inclusion in all settings. 4. Work collaboratively with all staff on policy and practices related to diversity, equity and inclusion within the district. 5. Work collaboratively with Human Resources to strategize initiatives for the recruitment and retention of diverse staff. 6. Support the effective implementation of a comprehensive training program in culturally and linguistically responsive practices for all staff members to support success for all students. 7. Serve as a community and parent liaison on issues related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. 8. Serve as mentor, coach, and supervisor/evaluation of principals. 9. Evaluate and support principals. 10. Oversee grade 4K-12 GT/Retention. 11. Oversee Title III. 12. Oversee 4K-12 English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): ESOL coordinator, and refugee impact grant activities including oversight of the multicultural outreach coordinator and navigator; bilingual bicultural plan and application. 13. Oversee and evaluate coordinators: ESOL/multicultural, ArtsCore. 14. Organize and facilitate the work of the DEI Committee. 15. Facilitate the district's implementation of decision-making processes at school sites, including budgeting, staffing, guidance to leadership teams, student leadership groups, discipline processes, assessments and other facets of school operations. 16. Supervise and evaluate coordinators: science, social studies and STEM office tech through development of best practices and utilization of the district evaluation model. 17. Determine and supervise additional administrative assignments for building principals. 18. Support new principal orientation and arrange mentoring support. 19. Plan principal meetings and professional development as requested for the administrative team. 20. Promote the role of principal as instructional leader in assuring curricular and instructional accountability. 21. Assist school building administrators in their efforts to improve individual staff competencies and effective instructional performance. 22. Provide consultation to principals regarding attendance and discipline processes. 23. Assist in the determination of types of programs needed by the schools, make appropriate recommendations, and work with other district departments to facilitate program support. 24. Performs other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as the superintendent may assign. Required Education, Experience, and Skills: 1. Masters degree in educational administration from an accredited university – specialist or doctorate degree preferred. 2. Data-Driven decision-maker 3. Teamwork Oriented 4. Leadership 5. Good Communicator 6. Develop and practice good management skills Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 1. A minimum of three years of successful principal experience and three years of successful teaching experience 2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and to serve as a coach in enhancing the performance of teachers/administrators 3. Knowledge of school administration and its relationship to instruction, curriculum, assessment, and operation of the school district 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate or acceptable. Supervisory Responsibilities: 1. A subset of Elementary School Principals
