Position Summary: To assist the superintendent and oversee the implementation and management of technology resources and systems throughout the school district. This includes hardware and software infrastructure, internet connectivity, technology-related policies and procedures, and leadership of the technology services team. Essential Functions: 1. Technology Planning and Implementation: Developing and implementing technology plans and strategies that align with the school district's academic and administrative goals. This includes identifying hardware and software needs, assessing technology resources, and creating timelines and budgets for technology initiatives. 2. Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of the district's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, and other hardware and software systems. This may involve coordinating with outside vendors and service providers as needed. 3. Security and Data Privacy: Ensuring the security and privacy of the district's technology systems and data, including developing and implementing policies and procedures for cybersecurity, data privacy, and data backup and recovery. 4. Professional Development: Providing training and support to faculty and staff on the use of technology tools and resources, as well as keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. 5. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Developing and managing the technology budget for the district, including identifying funding sources and making decisions about the allocation of resources. 6. Policy and Procedure Development: Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to technology use, including acceptable use policies, data privacy policies, and software licensing policies. 7. Project Management: Managing technology projects from start to finish, including identifying project goals and objectives, creating project plans and timelines, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress and outcomes. 8. Stakeholder Communication: Communicating with various stakeholders in the school district, including faculty, staff, parents, and community members, to provide updates on technology initiatives and to address concerns and questions. 9. Direct and supervise the OASD Technology Services Department. 10. Ensure equity practices are embedded in the services of the technology department. 11. Lead OASD Data Team ensuring data interoperability between systems and coordinate building access security systems and personnel identification. Other Responsibilities: 1. Work cooperatively with leaders of other administrative divisions to identify technology needs and develop solutions that support their objectives. 2. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations on their potential impact on the organization. 3. Supervise of the student information system (Infinite Campus) and learning management system (Canvas) 4. Provide oversight of all OASD data systems ensuring smooth interoperability between and among systems for all electronic reporting requirements. 5. Lead the District Technology Team (DTT) in the support of the OASD Learning without Limits (LWOL) initiative. 6. Coordinate the activities of the instructional support teachers for technology integration (TI) and media and information literacy (MIL). 7. Direct and establish vision for the instructional support teachers for technology integration and media and information literacy. 8. Responsible for the development of the combined information technology and media plan. 9. Keeps abreast of developments and innovations in the field of education by reading current literature, attending professional society and association meetings and conferences, and discussing developments and problems of mutual interest with others in the field. Required Education, Experience, and Skills: 1. Bachelors degree in education administration from an accredited university. 2. Data-Driven decision-maker 3. Teamwork Oriented 4. Strong Leadership 5. Project Management 6. Good Communicator 7. Develop and practice good management skills Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 1. A minimum of three years of central office and building technology leadership experience desired. 2. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate or acceptable.
