We are currently looking to fill a Head Football Coaching position for Pecatonica High School for the
2023-2024 school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be scholarly first with thinking, planning, and decision making.
Instruct players and assistant coaches in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
Organize and lead daily practices.
Determine strategies for games and tournaments.
Supervise athletes during practices and games and ensure their safety.
Oversee all levels of the football program.
Run open gyms/weight room at a time conducive for scholar-athletes.
Follow all rules, policies, and regulations of the Pecatonica Area School District.
Please Note: Coaches will be required to complete the NFHS "Fundamentals of Coaching" course within
the first year.
Preferred:
Certified Educator
CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
Fundamentals of Coaching course per NFHS
Previous high school or college playing experience
High school, club or college coaching experience
Possess excellent organizational skills and provide program oversight
Understands and teaches skills/fundamentals, rules of sport and associations; including technical and
tactical components of the game
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and communicates clearly with athletes and parents
Ability to supervise and monitor team in various setting
Mentor and develop relationships with scholar-athletes and encourage a healthy, fun and competitive
outlook in sport
Previous head coaching experience
Previous high school coaching experience
