TEACHER OF THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING JOB LOCATION: District-wide CONTRACT PERCENT: 100% time START DATE: August 24, 2023 (New teacher orientation August 15, 16, 17, 21, 2023) JOB DESCRIPTION: Qualified candidates will: • Be responsible as the case manager for educational programming coordination of students in the hearing impaired program; • Work with other staff as a team; • Provide assessment and instruction; • Provide support for inclusion and mainstreaming in the regular education environment; • Provide outcome based functional life skills instruction; • Be responsible for coordination of assistive listening technology and adaptive technology with audiologist; and • Be supportive of student independence in the school and community. THE DISTRICT: The Watertown Unified School District is the 50th largest district in Wisconsin. The District has approximate enrollment of 3,300 public school students supported by 500 certified and support staff. The District includes five elementary, one middle school, and one high school. THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community hosts 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
