The School District of New Lisbon seeks a full-time junior high cross-categorical special education teacher. Candidates for this position will be licensed to serve students with a range of disabilities including emotional/behavior disabilities, learning disabilities, other health impairments, and intellectual disabilities. The cross-categorical teacher works closely with regular education teachers, paraprofessionals, and administration to provide specially designed instruction, accommodations, and support to meet IEP goals for junior high students. Candidates will be positive and proactive team-members with an understanding of individual student needs. Common Expectations: 1. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Participates in screenings, evaluations, meetings, and IEP development for in-district and out-of-district placements. 2. Maintains records requested for billing and reporting. 3. Collaborates with district staff, colleagues, and parents. 4. Maintains a safe classroom as related to instructor and student behavior as well as the physical environment. 5. Creates lesson plans and provides specially designed classroom instruction. 6. Provides direct service to students as assigned. 7. Participates in professional development activities. 8. Provides in-service to districts, parents, and other partners. DPI License 1801 or ability to obtain license. District Description: The School District of New Lisbon is an Early Childhood - Grade 12 district located all in one building, with a total population of 600 students.
