The Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) school system is looking for an Instructional Interventionist for the 2023-24 school year. This position is flexible and can be a full-time position 40 hrs. week, a part-time position 20 hours/week or a job share position between 2 people at 20 hours a week each for the school year. The Instructional Interventionist will work with targeted students and student groups who have experienced learning loss due to the pandemic as well as support entire classrooms if the teacher of record is quarantined. Instructional Interventionists provide one-on-one or small group support for students with identified learning needs. Additionally, the interventionist may engage teachers in coaching cycles including modeled teaching, co-planning/co-teaching, and teacher observation to assist teachers in meeting the identified student learning needs. Instructional Interventionists provide constructive feedback to teachers to develop their teaching practice. They are also expected to demonstrate a Catholic vision of the world and of education, and approach the art of teaching in accordance with the principles of the Gospel. Gives evidence of lived Gospel values C. Assumes an active role in building the faith community of the school system Instructional Proficiency A. Plans and models lessons that are differentiated for varied student learning needs. B. Demonstrates competence in the gradual release of responsibility. C. Develops and uses a variety of formative and summative assessments. Classroom Management A. Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which promotes differentiated learning, self-direction, and positive self-image in alignment with school-wide and school system policies and rules. B. Maintains a functional, pleasant, positive and secure learning environment for varying learning needs of students in accordance with school, GRACE, and Diocesan policies. Interpersonal Relationships A. Works cooperatively and effectively with school system administration and all staff members. B. Interacts with students of varying academic abilities and knowledge in a positive, mutually respectful, friendly, and just manner. C. Maintains positive relationships with parents, and keeps parents informed regarding student progress through regular communication and effective parent-teacher conferences. D. Provides positive and meaningful constructive feedback for teachers. Professional Responsibilities and Growth A. Maintains a professional manner. B. Handles confidential information on students and teachers with discretion. C. Seeks professional growth opportunities in relation to pandemic achievement gaps and teacher coaching. D. Interprets school program and policies to the local community in a positive manner. E. Is punctual with paperwork and attends all required professional days/events. Other A. Any other responsibilities as assigned by the principal. Job Responsibilities Meet with teachers about student learning concerns with special attention given to students below grade level in math and reading. Seamlessly cover classrooms for teachers of record on quarantine. Provide student interventions, differentiation, and modifications for students with gaps in achievement due to pandemic learning loss. Observe teachers teaching and provide constructive feedback specifically on helping targeted students. Model various teaching methods and strategies of differentiated instruction to be observed by other teachers. Assist teachers in implementing scaffolds for students with pandemic instructional learning loss through co-planning and co-teaching. Collect and analyze data such as reading records, MAPs, and other benchmark assessments. Qualifications and Education Requirements - Minimum of a BA/BS in an appropriate subject area - Has teaching certification, or is actively working toward certification - Demonstrates professional competency in an area of academic expertise - Successful completion of legal background check and Virtus training - Models the life of a believing and practicing Catholic Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 20 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
