Berlin High School is looking to hire an at-risk teacher who understands that all students can learn and achieve, but that not all students learn the same way. We are expanding our at-risk/alternative education department to provide different pathways to success for students who need something different than the traditional high school approach. The teacher in this position will need to build relationships with students to ensure they are meeting their graduation requirements. Credit recovery, attendance monitoring, and collaborating with school social workers and county personnel will be essential functions of this position. Berlin High School has a long history rich in tradition and pride. Our student body of approximately 470 students have a breadth of opportunity with over 160 different course offerings to choose from in multiple disciplines including career and technical education, fine arts, sciences, mathematics, languages, and college preparatory courses. Berlin High School offers the opportunity for students to earn over 90 university and technical school credits while in high school in addition to Advanced Placement (AP) offerings. We believe that the high school experience extends outside the classroom, and with nearly 50 extracurricular clubs, groups and teams, our students have ample opportunity to be involved. Berlin High School is one of three schools that make up the Berlin Area School District. Clay Lamberton Elementary (4K-5) and Berlin Middle School (6-8) sit on the same campus as Berlin High School and serve as a hub of activity for the greater Berlin community. The Berlin Area School District is composed of 14 municipalities, with the City of Berlin at the center. Berlin is a rural community with a population of 5,500 located approximately 20 minutes west of Oshkosh and 10 minutes north of Green Lake. The Fox River runs through the center of the historic Victorian downtown. Agriculture, health services, light industry, and retail shops comprise Berlin’s economy.
