The Marion School District is seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and qualified candidate to teach Math (1.0 FTE) at Marion High School beginning in the 2023 - 2024 school year. Marion Junior/Senior High School is located in a north-central Wisconsin community of about 1,300 people. The school district has about 480 students in grades 4K - 12. Marion Junior/Senior High School has about 180 students in grades 7-12. The position will teach courses in the CPM math curriculum. There are also opportunities to teach upper level and transcripted math courses through the local technical college. The successful candidate will strive to inspire and instill lifelong learning for all students. They should possess excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to academic excellence, provide academic support for the individual needs of his or her students, and foster positive interactions with students and fellow employees. Candidates must be a collaborative colleague who effectively builds relationships with students, staff members, families, and the community. The best candidate will have knowledge of current educational methodology and practices. The ideal candidate will be committed to high student achievement, continuous professional dialogue & growth and using data to improve student outcomes. The candidate must also demonstrate consistent proficiency in the components within the Danielson Model for Educator Effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of CPM, but the district will provide additional training as needed. This position's expectations include, but are not limited to the knowledge of: Wisconsin State Standards including the Math Practices, Response to Intervention and Multi-Level Systems of Supports, and being able to design rigorous, relevant, and differentiated lessons along with evaluating student growth. Other expectations include the establishment and maintenance of rapport with pupils to ensure an effective learning atmosphere, evaluation of pupil's academic and social growth, communicate effectively with parents in various ways (i.e. learning management system, newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, conferences) and integration of technology into instruction. Must possess or be eligible to possess Wisconsin Teaching Certification #1400.
