Director of Special Education and Pupil Services including other duties as assigned. Desired Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum of three years successful teaching experience - Successful experience as an administrator, director of curriculum and instruction, director of pupil services or instructional coach preferred but not required - Proven experience as an instructional leader in the classroom/school/district - Proven ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with staff, students, parents, administration and Board of Education - Skilled instructional leader with a focus on helping staff and students succeed - Experience with Educator Effectiveness - preferably CESA #6 Model - Develop and maintain positive relationships with all school stakeholders - Must enjoy working with students regardless of their needs School District of Spring Valley Facts: - PK-12 district - Approximately 770 students - PK–12 unified campus - Approximately 120 employees - Administrative team comprised of elementary principal, MS/HS principal, special education director, and superintendent - District strategic plan includes goal of ensuring employees salary and benefits in the top 50% compared to area schools - Annual budget in excess of $10,000,000 - The District is located just twenty miles from UW-River Falls and UW-Stout - UW-Eau Claire and the Twin Cities, MN are located just fifty miles away Overview of District-paid Benefits: - Group Term Life Insurance - Long-term Disability Insurance - Dental Insurance - Cell phone $75 monthly payment - Up to $1,800 employer contribution to Health Savings Account if enrolled in the district’s medical insurance plan - Up to $2,000 employer match of contributions to 403(b) Retirement Savings Account. - Wisconsin Retirement System - Vacation 2 days during the school year. - Sick Leave 12 days per year (includes 3 Personal Days)
