Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) has an opening (and exciting opportunity) for a new coordinator position in the Human Resources Department. This position serves several key operational functions and supports the Director of Business Services. Some of the main essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: -Assist with the coordination of job applications, interviews, and hiring of district employees, including, but not limited to background checks, proper certification, placement on compensation model/schedule, and issuing individual letters of employment and contracts. -Maintain, and under supervision of the Director of Business Services, create procedures to maintain work flow of various activities related to Human Resource management: Onboarding, Personnel file maintenance (all types), Separation -Maintain the monthly personnel report for committee and board meetings. -Facilitate and participate in onboard processes for new staff, including the new teacher inservice and seasonal coaches meetings. -Produce teacher contracts, employment letters, and Memoranda of Understanding through Skyward. -In the absence of the HR/Finance Assistant and/or Payroll Specialist, complete any assigned duties and be fully cross trained. -Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of District business and employee relations. -Maintain job descriptions for all employees and update or create as needed. -Maintain Skyward’s Employee Management module for regular staffing plans and separate plans for co-curricular activities, extended contracts, etc. -Manage the True Time module in Skyward and troubleshoot employee issues related to clocking in/out. -Other duties as assigned. Human Resources is getting increasingly reliant on data and technology; in the case of MAPS, it is deeply tied into the District's HRIS (Human Resource Information System) which is Skyward. We are also considering taking on additional technology to streamline, monitor, and ensure compliance with processes and record keeping. It is imperative that the individual seeking this position both likes and can utilize technology to a high degree. The preferred candidate will have meet the following criteria: Education -Minimum of an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; Experienced HR related work experience will also be considered. -Thorough knowledge of Human Resources department organizational structure, rules, regulations, and operating procedures -Records and file management including office automation; computer software utilized by the Human Resources Department -Training on state and federal reporting requirements. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google Suite, Skyward, WECAN and related software. Experience -Using tact and diplomacy in dealing with individuals having business with the Human Resources Department. -Preparing and interpreting legal documents. -Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. -Compiling, organizing, preparing and maintaining an assortment of records, reports and information in an effective and efficient manner. -Performing work with a high degree of accuracy and promptness. -Designing and implementing office practices and procedures.
