Marinette School District is seeking a passionate, dedicated and student-focused individual to join our team as the Middle School Principal. Through the use of supervisory, administrative and leadership skills, the Principal will serve as an educational leader, and manage the school to obtain optimum instructional performance from each staff member, promote the maximum educational development of each student, and provide liaison between the school, home and the community. Responsibilities: - Responsible for the decisive leadership in the improvement of the total educational program within the school community. - Assumes responsibility for the supervision of the schools curricular and co-curricular programs. - Provides educational leadership and guidance through classroom visits, conferences with teachers and assisting in the selection and use of instructional materials and curriculum development through a participation system involving teachers and others who may be able to help improve the system. - Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all board policies and regulations by the school staff and students. - Prepares and administers the school budget and supervises school finances through the monitoring of revenues and expenditures of school funds including activity accounts. - Exercises major responsibilities of recruiting, screening, hiring, assigning, and evaluating the school staff. - Establishes, develops and maintains effective support with the student body, and cooperatively establishes guides for proper student conduct and maintain student discipline. - Cooperatively assists in the supervising and maintenance of buildings,grounds, and equipment. - Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school. - Provides for the most effective utilization of the certified, paraprofessional and secretarial staff through appropriate assignment to specific position, grade or subject. - Responsible for the interpretation of the school programs to the community and is expected to work actively with parent organizations and other community groups dedicated to the improvement of the educational system. - Encourages the involvement of students where matters are of direct relationship to students and shall be responsible for developing the specific avenues by which this involvement can be utilized. - Helps develop innovative ideas and concepts regarding professional growth of staff personnel and devises cooperatively realistic plans and programs that may be adopted and implemented to execute those ideas. - Assumes responsibilities of all official school correspondence and news releases. - Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings as necessary or as directed by the superintendent to maintain a positive academic environment. - Delegates authority to the assistant principal or other responsible personnel to assume responsibility for the schools operation in the absence of the principal. - Prepares or supervises and maintains the preparation of reports, student records and lists and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the schools administration. - Guides the staff in shared decision making, teaming and collaborative approach to solve problems and continually improve the education process. Qualifications: - Masters degree in Educational/Administrative Leadership - Valid Wisconsin Licensure (5051) - Prior administrative experience preferred - Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching/education experience Competencies: - Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and support a culture of continuous improvement - Promotes a constant state of re-evaluation through seeking ways to improve rather than to react to problems with quick fixes. - Critical thinking and the ability to use lean concepts to foster creative problem-solving - Exceptional communication and organizational skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information - Commitment to ongoing learning and reflective in practice - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, community partners Please include the following documents with your application: - Cover Letter - Resume - Transcripts - Copy of your valid Principal License - Letters of Recommendation Marinette School District is an EOE.
