School Counselor Posting 2023 Job Posting - School Counselor Position: School Counselor-Long Term Substitute Employer: Mukwonago Area School District Location: Mukwonago High School The Mukwonago Area School District, located approximately 25 miles southwest of Milwaukee, is seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic School Counselor beginning in late January-June 7th, 2023. This is a long-term substitute position, perfect for a brand new, or recently retired, school counselor. Mukwonago High School has an enrollment of about 1,600 students in grades 9-12. Education, Experience and Qualifications: Master’s degree required Must possess or be eligible for WI Certification #7054 School Counselor Experience as a High School Counselor preferred Knowledge of ASCA national model and ASCA Mindsets and Behavior student competencies Must demonstrate an understanding and commitment that all students can learn and be successful across the entire curriculum Knowledge and strong connections to mental health resources and social service providers. Experience in trauma-sensitive practices, mental health programming, and school-wide implementation Excellent writing and computer literacy skills Demonstrated leadership skills and capabilities Duties and Responsibilities: Counsels students to develop plans and pathways to educational and career success Coordinates with the building team to provide Academic and Career Planning programming that leads to college and career readiness for all students Facilitates small group learning to promote social/emotional development Collaborates and problem-solves with all stakeholders as an integral part of a student’s success team Facilitates the usage of data to drive decision-making and program evaluation Contributes to a positive school culture and student-centered collaboration.
