The Mequon-Thiensville School District is looking for a Research & Digital Learning Specialist starting as soon as possible for the 2022-2023 school year. This position will be a full time (1.0) partial one-year contract. Applicants must be certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction with Library Media Specialist licensing or the ability to obtain this certification. Partial position description below.

RESEARCH & DIGITAL LEARNING (RDL) SPECIALIST PARTIAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Purpose:
The purpose of the Library Media/Research & Digital Learning (RDL) specialist is to provide the expertise necessary to ensure that the school library and instructional technology (IT) programs are aligned with the mission, goals, and objectives of the school district. The RDL specialist empowers learners to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and effective and ethical users of ideas and information.

Performance Responsibilities:
• Serve as the catalyst for the integration of Information & Technology Literacy Standards (ITLS) into all curricular areas
• Coach faculty in appropriately and effectively designing instruction and assessment to include research skills and digital tools
• Assist in meeting the needs of diverse learners in collaboration with classroom teachers and specialists by promoting and modeling the effective use of instructional technology in teaching
• Provide training on evaluating and using instructional and research resources and digital learning tools
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators in selecting and evaluating appropriate materials, both digital tools and print resources, that enhance teaching and learning
• Maintaining a robust and diverse collection
• Promote intellectual freedom and equity of access through practices and policies
• Contribute to the building and vertical leadership teams in aligning research and digital learning curriculum
