The Mequon-Thiensville School District is seeking an experienced individual to apply for the open position of Office Assistant for Donges Bay Elementary Schools. Duties will include word processing, maintaining student records, placing and receiving phone calls and providing assistance for teachers. Computer and word processing skills are necessary.

Position Description
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OFFICE ASSISTANT
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma
2. Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic
3. Be highly organized, computer proficient, ability to type 65-70 words per minute
4. Ability to interact positively with staff, students and parents
5. Good communication skills
6. Knowledge of and ability to use office equipment
7. Ability to coordinate activities of a school office
Reports to:
Building Principal or his/her designee
Performance Responsibilities:
• Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy office
• Maintains general security of the office and its contents
• Tends to the needs of students who become ill, distributes meds, calls parents if necessary
• Maintains such student records as shall be required
• Assists with registration process
• Counts and distributes materials to be placed in Thursday folder
• Cafeteria and/or recess duty
• Processes daily lunch money, records and reports daily lunch count
• Maintains inventory of tradebooks
• Receives and routes all incoming calls including change in dismissal routine and attendance line
• Assists teachers in preparing instructional materials as requested including laminating
• Processes daily U.S. mail
• Maintains daily teacher attendance log and the concomitant for substitute teachers
• Occasionally implement and provide the health care services plan as designed by the health care provider or school nurse
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned
Terms of Employment:
• Ten/eleven month year
• Subject to terms of the Mequon-Thiensville School District Employee Handbook
Evaluation:
• Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Educational Support Personnel
