ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT-ELEMENTARY (Wilson Elementary School) HOURS 40 hours/week WORK PERIOD 220 work days/school year BEGINNING DATE: as soon as possible This person will be the administrative assistant to the principal of Wilson Elementary School with duties that include word processing, reports, etc., placing and receiving phone calls and minor bookkeeping associated with the position. Computer and word processing skills are necessary. See position description below. Position description and qualifications are listed below. POSITION DESCRIPTION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - ELEMENTARY Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma 2. Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic 3. Highly organized, excel in time management and computer proficient 4. Ability to interact positively with staff, students and parents 5. Good communication skills 6. Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records 7. Ability to coordinate activities of a school office Reports to: Building Principal Performance Responsibilities: • Provides secretarial support for building principal • Maintains accurate enrollment records, student database, building usage • Responsible for registration and withdrawal of students, immunization records • Responsible for various reports, maintains necessary files • Prepares/composes correspondence, newsletters • Places and receives telephone calls, records messages, checks night voicemail daily • Orders and maintains supplies as needed, checks in all purchase orders • Performs bookkeeping tasks, sorts interschool mail • Schedules appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and interviews • Assigns duties to and supervises the work of clerical office personnel • Welcomes visitors and screens callers in accordance with pre-determined policy • Implement and provide the health care services plan as designed by the health care provider or school nurse • Performs such other duties as may be assigned Terms of Employment: • School year + additional work days • Subject to terms of the Mequon-Thiensville School District Employee Handbook Evaluation: • Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation
