The School District of Onalaska is accepting applications for a substitute Occupational Therapist starting March 2023 to the end of the school year. Position Summary: To evaluate children with disabilities; provide treatment and consultation services for and on behalf of children that qualify for occupational therapy services; and collaborate with education personnel, parents and community agencies. School-based occupational therapy is designed to enhance the student's ability to fully access and be successful in the learning environment. The Occupational Therapist helps students restore or maintain function, foster normal development and where feasible, prevent further delays through the selection of purposeful activities. The Occupational Therapist facilitates improvement of the student’s physical, emotional, sensory and/or perceptual deficits. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program. Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Department of Public Instruction and Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing. (DPI License #51) Professional background and knowledge of the school-based practice of Occupational Therapy. Skills in communication with parents, school personnel, and other professionals concerning the needs of children served. Ability to work well with students, parents, administrators, staff and the community.
