Part Time
The Wausau School District is looking for middle and high school students (at least 14 years old) to assist elementary students after school with math and reading enrichment activities, timely completion of homework and improvement of student skills to advance student learning, achievement, and success. Tutor's may work 1:1 or in small groups as directed by the supervisor or teacher. Will serve as a role model to help motivate and empower students.
*Tutors will be needed at the following elementary schools: Thomas Jefferson, Franklin, Grant, Lincoln, Hawthorn Hills, John Marshall, Riverview, and G.D. Jones Elementary Schools.
PLEASE NOTE: APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER 10th. APPLICANTS WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL (FROM A DISTRICT EMAIL ACCOUNT) WITH INFORMATION ON HOW TO SIGN UP FOR AN INTERVIEW.
Qualifications:
*Must be a middle or high school student, at least 14 years of age
*Must be able to show academic proficiency (at least 3.0 cumulative grade point average)
*Reliable transportation to and from school site is necessary
*Requires individual who has the ability to work effectively as a member of a team
*Demonstrates initiative and takes direction from others
*Strong, positive interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with elementary-age students
*Must be prompt, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality
*Must be flexible and able to work with students in a variety of settings, both indoors and outdoors
*Technology skills are a plus
