The School District of New Lisbon seeks a Speech and Language Pathologist Long-Term Substitute mid-December 2022 through mid-March 2023.
Job Summary:
The Speech & Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech and language therapy to identified students in the New Lisbon School District.
Responsibilities of this position include:
1. Screens and evaluates students referred for concerns using accurate and current assessments.
2. Evaluates and develops treatment plans based upon student needs.
3. Participates in IEP meetings, creates individualized goals, assesses student progress, and completes reports appropriately.
4. Completes treatment logs, Medicaid billing, and other related documentation.
5. Provides direct or related services as per applicable guidelines.
6. Re-evaluates all students assigned to Speech & Language services as directed by a student's IEP or Federal law.
7. Develops appropriate therapeutic programs to need individual needs.
8. Attends staff meetings and school conferences as indicated by the needs of the child.
9. Cooperates with community, county, state, and federal programs which affect comprehensive speech & language services.
10. Identify students with AAC needs and assists with training of students, staff, and families.
Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Attends all meetings called by the Director of Special Education.
2. Attends meetings outside of typical school hours.
3. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Possesses a valid Speech & Language Pathologist License through the Department of Public Instruction.
2. Possesses a valid driver's license.
3. Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information in a group setting.
4. Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of special education record-keeping, principles, practices, and procedures.
5. Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of current technology.
6. Ability to establish effective working relationships with subordinates, other staff, other agencies, and the public.
7. Ability to analyze complicated special education needs & situations and provide sound advice and recommendations.
District Description: The School District of New Lisbon is an Early Childhood - Grade 12 district located all in one building, with a total population of 600 students. The District employs 100 dedicated and talented professional staff members. The district staff work in a positive and collaborative environment using the PLC model.
