The Unified School District of Antigo is seeking teacher applicants for it's Alternative Education Program for the 2022-2023 school year. JOB GOAL OR BASIC FUNCTION: This position requires someone who is enthusiastic, flexible and committed to student learning with an emphasis in the area of alternative education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents is a must. RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and Preparation · Demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy · Demonstrate knowledge of students · Set instructional outcomes · Demonstrate knowledge of resources · Design coherent instruction · Design student assessment Instruction · Communicate with students · Use question and discussion techniques · Engage students in learning · Use assessment in instruction · Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness · Plan, guide lessons for small groups/individual students. · Plan, guide and facilitate aspects of high school education outside the school day such as connecting with local businesses on job and volunteer opportunities for students. The Classroom Environment · Creates and maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interest of the students. · Providing specific feedback to student efforts in a timely fashion. · Establish a culture for learning · Manage classroom procedures · Manage student behavior · Organize physical space Professional Responsibilities · Reflect on teaching methods, use of resources and materials used to meet individual needs of students. · Maintain accurate records · Communicate with families · Participate in a professional community · Grow and develop professionally · Show professionalism · Contribute to the Academic and Career Planning culture · Accepts and utilizes suggestions for improvement.
