FACILITY COORDINATOR (Lake Shore Middle School) HOURS 40 hours/week WORK PERIOD year round SALARY $18.18/hour (start)-$22.19/hour (mid-range), based on experience (Category VII) BEGINNING DATE as soon as possible The Mequon-Thiensville School District is seeking an experienced individual to apply for the open position of full time Facility Coordinator at Wilson Elementary School. Under the general direction of the Building Principal and Director of Buildings and Grounds this individual will be responsible for orchestrating numerous tasks, such as but not limited to: • Overseeing building projects • Working closely with contractors throughout the year • Compiling five year project plans/long range project plans • Executing Decision Analysis • Testing water samples • HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance for their facility • Directing our contracted cleaning services as to ensure that a healthy and sanitary environment is maintained • Safety and security of their facility • Risk assessment/mitigation • Other duties as may be assigned Position description and qualifications are listed below. POSITION DESCRIPTION FACILITY COORDINATOR – Elementary Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma/valid Wisconsin drivers license 2. Dependable and conscientious with strong work ethic 3. Knowledge of materials, equipment and methods commonly used in general cleaning and maintenance work, ability to lift 80 # 4. Ability to plan, schedule, and carry out cleaning and minor maintenance duties with a minimum of supervision 5. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities 6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Reports to: Director of Buildings and Grounds Performance Responsibilities: • Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times • Evaluates, and if necessary, adjusts cleaning schedules with contracted services to meet the daily needs of the building • Assists in regulation of heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity • Performs periodic cleaning and maintenance duties as outlined in work schedules developed according to school district standards • Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair; making such minor repairs as he/she is capable of, and reporting major repairs needed promptly to the Director of Buildings and Grounds • Reports immediately to the Principal and Director of Buildings and Grounds any damage to school property • Assumes responsibility for the opening, closing and scheduling of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons are turned off • Keeps an inventory of supplies, equipment, and requisitions • Directs and supervises the work of any other assigned custodial staff and/or contracted service • Reports problems and safety concerns to Director of Buildings and Grounds immediately • Develop a plan to maintain and care for all school grounds • Coordinate snow removal process during snow events to include contacting and assigning buildings and grounds staff to ensure all schools are covered • Contact and coordinate contracted snow removal services as needed • Coordinate outdoor building maintenance with head custodians to ensure proper “curb” appeal to include line timing, lawn cutting and landscaping maintenance • Track and record weather data daily and keep seven year record • Track and record parking lot salting to include amount of salt used and locations • Ability to operate forklift and other heavy equipment • Adjusts and repairs such equipment as lawnmowers, sprinklers, and outdoor athletic equipment • Repair outdoor equipment • Working with Athletic and Recreation Department is responsible for athletic fields set-ups and games • Maintains inventory and reports needs to Director of Buildings and Grounds • Assists with material moving in storage areas • Be available as a substitute custodian when necessary • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds Terms of Employment: • Twelve month year • Subject to terms of the Mequon-Thiensville School District Employee Handbook Evaluation: • Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Educational Support Personnel
