We are currently seeking a highly dedicated, motivated, permanent guest teacher to serve the student community at Muskego Lakes Middle School for the 2022-23 school year. Wisconsin DPI certification to teach is preferred. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a student-centered philosophy of education and a broad repertoire of instructional strategies, differentiation/personalized learning techniques, and literacy advocacy. Candidates must understand the developmental stages of widely divergent children and implement developmentally responsive mid-level programming; must be skilled at pro-actively managing student behavior by fostering positive relationships based on mutual respect and by intervening as necessary to assist students toward the acquisition of self-discipline. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Candidates must demonstrate: • Familiarity with Common Core and state standards in all relevant subject area disciplines; • The ability to present lesson plans that are relevant, rigorous, differentiated, and integrate curriculum; • Creativity, enthusiasm and a high degree of energy; • Effective listening skills to engage in professional discourse while striving for consensus; • The ability to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators; • Knowledge of the tenets of a professional learning community; • The ability to analyze, synthesize, and obtain and use data to support and enhance student academic learning; • Understand the use of technologies that can personalize learning for students and enhance critical thinking (i.e. Chromebooks, Google Apps); • The ability to provide a safe, positive and engaging learning environment for students; • A lifelong learning commitment through credentials which reflect post-secondary training, conference attendance, and membership in professional and civic organizations; • Implementing project- and problem-based learning and performance-based assessment; • A positive approach to problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and respect; • Belief in the professional responsibility for the success of every child, regardless of the difficulties the child faces.
