Part Time
The main role of this assistant will be to monitor the cafeteria, hallways, and study halls as needed. An emphasis on computer related skills and problem solving is necessary in order to monitor these aspects of the learning community. Other roles may also be requested of this person as to contribute to the team effort of keeping our school functioning in a safe and efficient manner. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School diploma or GED 2. Excellent customer service skills 3. Excellent clerical skills 4. Excellent organizational skills 5. Excellent work ethic, attitude and employment record 6. Initiator, self-starter able to work independently with little supervision 7. Exceptional problem-solving skills 8. Excellent verbal communication skills 9. Recognize the importance of students’ daily attendance and monitoring behavior 10. Attendance is an essential function of this position
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • High School education or equivalent KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • District policies and procedures • School policies and procedures • Safety procedures within district and school LANGUAGE SKILLS: • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. • Ability to read and interpret documents, federal, state, and/or DPI regulations and handbooks. • Communicating with students in a way which fosters the development of a positive self-image. • Exercising good judgment in dealings with students, parents, other staff and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY: • Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems. • Utilizing problem-solving techniques in correcting and changing student behavior. • Using discretion in handling confidential information about students. • Modeling and reinforcing positive behaviors which are expected of students.
