RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in the Fox Point-Bayside School District as a long-term substitute working through on or about January 20, 2023. The preferred candidate will have the ability to: • Utilize creative and innovative classroom instructional practices. • Educate and engage all students that are in your classroom in a positive and individualized manner within the classroom. • Remain current and utilize best special education classroom instructional practices. • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others. • Implement the common core standards pertinent to your students. • Utilize behavior management systems including conducting Functional Behavioral Assessment and designing Behavioral Intervention Plans. • Conduct individual assessments as part of special education evaluations. • Facilitate various IEP team processes in order to determine, identify, and implement goals, services, and supports in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities. • Provide instruction in an inclusive/collaborative setting with general education instructors, as appropriate. • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, paraprofessionals, and various other stakeholders to ensure students with disabilities have access to high quality instruction and the general curriculum in the least restrictive environment. • Provide specialized instruction to ensure students with disabilities attain the skills needed to meet high academic, behavioral, and social expectations. • Develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships with parents through frequent communication to ensure progress toward IEP goals. • Apply IDEA laws and DPI guidelines to practice. • Knowledge of the WI Early Learning Standards. • Knowledge of Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop. Must hold a Cross-Categorical and/or Early Childhood Special Education License The Fox Point-Bayside School District is a K-8 school district on Milwaukee's North Shore. The district serves approximately 846 students in two schools and has been ranked by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as Significantly Exceeds Expectations for multiple years.
