Arrowhead Union High School is accepting applications for a part-time, school-year Study Hall and Lunch Room Aide located at our North Campus. This position works Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; working as the Study Hall Supervisor from 6:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as the Lunch Room Aide.
STUDY HALL AIDE: Monitor students during study hall, provide academic assistance to students, and ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain appropriate discipline and enforce study hall expectations to include The Arrowhead Way.
2. Distribute, monitor, and return teacher make-up tests for students taken in study hall.
3. Set up seating charts.
4. Maintain accurate attendance records for each student in study hall.
5. Implement a pass system to check in and check out students during the study hall period.
6. Circulate the classroom engaging students and establishing rapport.
7. Assist and support with student behavior management by communicating behavior concerns to administration and parents when needed.
8. Monitor halls during passing time to help maintain order.
9. Monitor students and keep accurate attendance records on students who are assigned to after school detention. Notify the staff member of the date the student attended detention.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
LUNCH ROOM AIDE: Monitor students during lunch and provide a safe and positive lunch period from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain appropriate discipline and enforce lunchroom expectations to include The Arrowhead Way.
2. Become familiar with and aware of students with food allergies.
3. Respond positively to situations and circumstances as they arise.
4. Circulate the cafeteria engaging students and establishing rapport.
5. Assist and support with student behavior by communicating behavior concerns to the lead lunchroom supervisor.
6. Prepare buckets of sanitizing solution, to be used on cafeteria tables and benches. Clean and sanitize the cafeteria tables and benches after each lunch period.
7. Maintain the appearance of the cafeteria throughout the lunch period. Keep tables, benches, floor and tray return areas neat and clean.
8. Dismiss students in an orderly fashion at the end of the lunch period.
9. Treat students in a courteous, kind and respectful manner.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
• High School diploma
• Possess classroom management and behavior management skills
• Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate, collaborate, and work effectively with all staff
• Possess problem solving, imagination, patience, reasoning, creativity, and good judgment
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the school and follow safety expectations
Must also be dependable, friendly, possess computer skills, and have a working knowledge of Arrowhead Union High School.
