To apply for this position, please go to: https://www.applitrack.com/sdb/onlineapp The School District of Beloit is seeking a secretary for Beloit Memorial High School.  This is a permanet/full time position based on a 212 day schedule.  Minority and biligual candidates are encouraged to apply.  Salary offers start at:  $1719 per hour.  Start date:  ASAP Job purpose  The Secretary of Substitutes and Academic Affairs will ensure that the Office of Academic Affairs operates effectively, efficiently, and professionally. This position will provide assistance to the BMHS Assistant Principals and will interact frequently with students and staff.  The primary task of this position is to ensure that substitute coverage is provided to all teachers in need every period/block of each day. Duties and responsibilities Main Office: Manages visitor access to the school building through the use of door entry system  Greets all visitors, students and teachers courteously, determines their needs, checks appointments, and directs or escorts them to the proper person or place  Maintains the visitor sign in log and issues visitor badges  Maintains a pleasant attitude by being tactful and courteous with all school personnel, students, and visitors  Personally assists visitors, students, and teachers with routine questions or problems  Serve as the receptionist for the Main Office and BMHS by answering telephones, respond to inquiries and direct and/or transfer the caller to the appropriate person, take and relay messages accurately  Keeps Main Office attractive and materials up-to- date  Assist in sending for and or locating students for appointments and other services as needed, utilizing school passes appropriately  Performs clerical duties such as photocopying, printing, scanning  Work effectively as a team member within the building and across the district  Practice ethical and professional standards of conduct, including the requirements of confidentiality regarding student and personnel information  Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality and have consistent, reliable attendance  Communicate by radio to administrators, custodians and school nurse when appropriate.  Maintain a high working knowledge base of and regularly utilize Skyward Student Information System, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)  Demonstrate the ability to deal with sensitive issues in a tactful and professional manner  Accept and receipt student payments in accordance with School District policy and ensure funds are received by BMHS Bookkeeper.  Receives and distributes mail and packages in accordance with school procedures  Comply with all district policies and procedures  Other duties as assigned  Attendance: Manage, record, and accept telephone calls, written excuses, and other forms of notification from parents regarding attendance issues such as illness, vacation, or late arrivals  Ensure messages left on school attendance phone line and in school attendance email account are received in a timely fashion and addressed / recorded accordingly  Write, hand out, and distribute student passes (excused or tardy) as needed for students arriving late to school or when they need to leave early from school  Track daily student attendance, verify legitimacy of student excuses, prepare, and communicate necessary attendance reports  Communicate with parents, students, staff, etc. in person, by telephone or in written form for the purpose of providing information on a variety of attendance issues and meeting district and state absence notification requirements.  Address inquiries from students and parents regarding attendance policies and rules  Ensures accuracy of attendance records for the purpose of complying with State laws governing attendance  Reconcile student attendance records for students who attend field trips or other school related activities  Maintains a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files (manual and computer) (e.g. contact and telephone logs, student attendance, etc.) for the purpose of providing reliable information in compliance with district policies  Oversee the student sign out process and maintain accurate record of student absences  Summer School: Manage summer school registration, enrollment, and withdraws in Skyward   Ensure students enroll into correct classes by reviewing student transcript  Review submitted summer school grades for accuracy  Maintains summer school records and files for the purpose of documenting summer school activities, providing reliable information and complying with district requirements  Assist summer school administrator(s) with summer graduation
