GROUP LEADERS – KIDS’ CAMPUS DONGES BAY/ORIOLE LANE/WILSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS APPLICATION DEADLINE: open until filled HOURS: Monday thru Friday, flexible work hours, 10-29 hours/week (School days – 6:15 am-9:15 am & 3:30 pm-6:15 pm) - program hours (Non-school days – 6:45 am-6:00 pm) - broken in shifts WORK PERIOD: School Year SALARY: $10.00/hr.-$12.00/hr. (Category I) BEGINNING DATE: as soon as possible These individuals will assist the Recreation Supervisor and Site Supervisor in the direct leadership and supervision of activities, participants, and staff at the assigned site along with supervision and instruction of the children involved in the Kids’ Campus Program. Group Leaders will be responsible for the daily operations of the site. They will assist with the planning and implementation of monthly theme oriented schedules, educational components, community service projects, art-n-crafts, children’s games, active games, and the overall promotion of the programs as guided by the Recreation Supervisor. Candidates must be prepared to perform other duties as identified in the position description listed below. Position Description GROUP LEADER – KIDS’ CAMPUS Qualifications: 1. At least 16 years of age with an educational background 2. Knowledge and experience in supervision of children 3. Must be mature, responsible, and enjoy working with youth Reports to: Site Supervisor – Kids’ Campus Recreation Supervisor - Youth Programs Performance Responsibilities: • Provides leadership and supervision and leadership for the program participants • Maintain leadership and control through example; be polite, helpful, respectful-follow site rules • Develop and maintain a friendly working relationship with school district personnel • Promote and maintain safety practices and procedures for the program • Be prepared to react to any emergency situation: be certain that you are aware of the location of the first aid kid, biohazard clean up supplies and telephone • Encourage proper use of equipment and facilities • Instructs and leads the participants in the following activities; arts-n-crafts, storytelling, cooperative games, educational components, community service projects, etc • Be familiar with the current M-T Recreation Manual, including current Kids’ Campus policies and registration procedures • Records daily attendance and constant supervision of all program participants • Handles the questions and complaints of parents in the most tactful manner possible • Meets with the Recreation Supervisor - Youth Programs for staff meetings and performance evaluations • Performs such other duties as may be assigned Terms of Employment: • ten month year • Subject to terms of the Mequon-Thiensville School District Employee Handbook Evaluation: • Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Educational Support Personnel
