Key responsibilities include:
Demonstrating solid knowledge and understanding of mathematics
Using a multitude of instructional strategies that are academically rigorous and highly engaging
Taking responsibility for student progress; constantly working to respond to students’ needs
Aligning planning to student assessment data
Using data-driven techniques to set ambitious goals for students
Inputting grades into the online grade book-Skyward
Clearly and consistently communicating and upholding school rules, values, and expectations in and out of the classroom
Setting an urgent, respectful, and positive tone in the classroom
Displaying time management to maximize student learning
Building relationships with students that communicate the importance of academic and social success at school
Taking on responsibilities outside of their content area instruction such as resource, Core Virtue presentations, lunch and recess duty, and after-school activities
Math Teacher Competencies and Qualifications
The successful candidate will also have:
A Bachelor’s degree from a college or university required
Classroom management abilities
A strong belief that all students can learn and succeed in the classroom
A do-whatever-it takes attitude
Math Teacher Content Area Information
The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for teaching all sections of mathematics courses for middle school grades (6th, 7th, and 8th Grade). We use Saxon Math as our primary math curriculum in grades 3-8.
General Information
This position is for 12 consecutive weeks beginning Late October through January (dates are flexible due to circumstances)
