Position: Accounting Specialist Building: Administration Building Terms of Employment: 52 Weeks, Full Time, Non-exempt Posting Date: July 20, 2022 The Accounting Specialist will provide support and contribute to the overall success of a high performing Finance team at the D.C. Everest Area School District. The Finance team is committed to providing high quality fiscal services through excellence in customer service, integrity, and accountability. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Maintains accurate record of incoming and outgoing payment. • Monitors daily cash-flow balances, short-term and long-term investments, and facilitates borrowing as needed to cover cash needs. • Performs monthly bank reconciliations. • Reviews month-end balance sheets prepared for monthly School Board meetings. • Assists accounting department with daily, monthly, and annual activities including, but not limited to: o Journal entries o Generation of financial reports o Resolution of monetary discrepancies o Budget questions o Internal and external data reporting • Assists with budget establishment process across buildings and departments. • Provides assistance for District-required audits. • Facilitates student membership count process. • Cross trains in the Accounts Payable and Payroll departments and assists when need arises. • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. WHAT IT TAKES • Associate degree or higher in accounting. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with emphasis on accounting desired. • Minimum 3 years of accounting work experience preferred. • Basic understanding of accounting practices and principles. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams desired. • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills. • Professional written and verbal communication skills. • Positive attitude and service driven work ethic. • Willingness to learn from other team members as well as research new and unfamiliar topics. WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE • $24.36 per hour or higher depending on qualifications and experience. • Paid time off including 18 paid time off days, 15 vacation days, and 9 holidays starting July 1, 2022 (prorated from start date through June 30, 2023). • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement (Wisconsin Retirement System).
