The School District of Spring Valley is a small district in western Wisconsin with PK-12 all on one campus. The campus is located on beautiful, rural acreage two miles from downtown. The modern high school with middle school wing for grades 6, 7, and 8 was built in 1998. The newly built elementary school opened in the fall of 2021. The district is technology-rich with all students and staff having one-to-one Chromebooks and laptops, mini-labs, and iPads, in addition to 4 traditional computer labs. The district also has the latest in livestreaming technology, 3D printers, and various other task-specific technology resources. A robust commercial WiFi system is available throughout the buildings. The school district offers strong academics and co-curricular activities with students receiving state level recognition in a wide variety of activities. There are 385 children in PK-5 and 376 students in grades 6-12. Average class size is 20 students for middle and high school.
The school district staff consists of 3 administrators, 54 teachers, and 52 support personnel. Employee benefits package includes options for medical, dental, short-term and long-term disability, health savings account, Wisconsin Retirement System savings plan, 403(b) retirement plan with a $2,000 employer match. The school district has not raised its insurance premiums in 10 years. The Board of Education is currently implementing the district's strategic plan with goals of competitive employee pay and benefits, adding new extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities for students, and the possibility of a new/renovated athletic complex.
The Village of Spring Valley has about 1,300 residents. It offers a wide range of services including a community theater and public library, and medical, dental, optometric, and chiropractic practitioners. Spring Valley is also home to an impressive 18-hole golf course. New residents have moved to Spring Valley attracted by the natural scenic beauty of our rugged tree-covered river valleys and the surrounding rolling countryside. On the edge of the Village is the Army Corps of Engineers’ 650-acre Eau Galle Recreation Area, providing opportunities for fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, camping, and horseback riding. Spring Valley lies eight miles south of I-94 between two college towns: UW-RF in River Falls, 20 miles to the west, and UW-Stout in Menomonie, 20 miles to the east. The shopping, professional sports facilities, international airport, educational institutions, and cultural events of the Twin Cities are just an easy hour’s drive away.
