Head 8th Grade Boys Basketball Coach Expectations Individuals applying for this position must be able to execute the following expectations: 1. Teach the fundamentals, skills, and techniques to prepare the athlete for High School while using basic instruction for Middle School understanding. 2. Follow program expectations and policies developed by the High School Head Coach, Activities Director, and Randolph School District. 3. Evaluate, support, and constructively correct players to assist in the development of a well-rounded basketball player. 4. Follow the High School Head Coaches’ lead in developing the basketball program. 5. Able to supervise open gyms out of season. 6. Attend all practices, games, and meetings. 7. Conduct yourself as a professional, show great sportsmanship, and be a role model for the student-athletes. 8. Encourage out of season basketball to help the athletes develop skills. 9. Promote the game of basketball to the Randolph Community. 10. Manage and uphold the same expectations for your program’s athletes as the District holds for the coaches. Practices generally run from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Practices begin the second/third week of October and run until the December Holiday break. Games are often Tuesday and Thursday, and may include the occasional Monday or Friday. Games start at 4:30 PM with the 7th Grade and 8th Grade will follow. The 2022/2023 schedule will offer 15 competitions. Individuals applying for this position should be interested to coach these programs for at least 2-4 years, minimum. Compensation: $2,625.00
