4K Teacher- Excel Preschool Start Date: July/August 2022 Full Time Certification: Elementary Regular Education and can have either Prekindergarten or Kindergarten status DESCRIPTION Excel Preschool, in collaboration with the Stevens Point Area Public School District, operates a 4K program within its centers. The 4K teacher, as a Excel Preschool employee, follows district curriculum and assessment processes. Excel Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic, positive, and creative 4K teacher. The individual should have a passion for working with preschool children ages 4-5 years old as well as a desire to prepare them for their Kindergarten year. The candidate will be expected to set up a classroom that is appropriate and conducive for all learners. Strong classroom management and communication skills are a must, effective listening and oral and written communication skills must be demonstrated. The individual should have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others and be able to relate well to children, families, staff, and community. The candidate will be expected to be an active member of the center community. The candidate must hold an elementary/regular education license that includes pre-kindergarten or kindergarten (e.g., 1088 with a low grade that includes pre-kindergarten or kindergarten, or 1777 Regular Education with a developmental level of Early Childhood or Early Childhood-Middle Childhood).
