Berlin Middle School is seeking an energetic, dedicated, innovative educator to join our staff in the music department. The ideal candidate will have the ability to relate to middle school students, build quality relationships with students, staff, and community, and welcome the opportunity to be part of a Professional Learning Community. Experience with Standards-Based Grading, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, and Developmental Designs is preferred. Additional coaching and adviser positions may be available. Duties: 1. Facilitate music classes by establishing a positive learning environment that provides specific feedback to students on both academic and social-emotional learning and personal growth. 2. Display strong communication and organizational skills especially when it comes to concerts, solo & ensemble, field trips, and additional performances. 3. Motivate and lead students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each student’s ability through large ensemble rehearsals, as well as individual and group lessons. 4. Develop and build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and administrators with a consistent focus on meeting student needs. The Berlin Area School District is located on the Fox River in East Central Wisconsin and is less than 90 minutes from Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, and Oshkosh. Berlin is an ideal location to live, work, and play with a population of 5,000. Our district has a student population of about 1,600 students in grades PK-12 on one campus. The middle school has an approximate student body of 330.
