Job Description: The School District of Baraboo is seeking a dynamic middle school principal beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. The ideal candidate will have the necessary vision, disposition and skills to create a school culture of excellence, build educator efficacy, ensure equitable opportunities, and engage community partners for the benefit of our students. This school leader will work collaboratively with staff, administration, students and parents to continue to strengthen our professional learning community. Our administrators are part of a leadership team with teachers and school board members who work together to improve teaching and learning throughout the district. Our school district has committed significant resources to professional development, literacy, multi-tiered systems of supports and facilities. The district also focuses efforts on building community values and providing co-curricular opportunities for students. A competitive salary and benefit package will be offered commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position will start immediately. Qualifications: To maximize the potential of all students and staff members, this principal needs to be an instructional leader with the following strengths: effective interpersonal communication and community building skills; ability to facilitate development of a positive learning community; strong knowledge base of high impact instructional strategies to support and coach teachers; knowledge of implementing standards-based learning and assessment; experience using data to guide improvement decisions; and knowledge of best professional practices to improve teaching and learning. Experience with Response to Intervention (RtI), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is desirable. Requirements: Candidate should possess Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) certification as a principal (5051).
