The College and Career Readiness Team is a high performing team supporting the largest Youth Apprenticeship and Carl Perkins/CTE consortium in the state of Wisconsin. Through collaboration and partnerships, our team empowers students to explore a range of options providing relevant experiences to start them on their individualized career path. Our team is comprised of education, information technology and school counseling professionals all working collaboratively to efficiently and effectively drive improved outcomes for schools and employers. SUMMARY:
The College and Career Readiness Consultant will provide leadership to assist consortium schools with the development of effective, contemporary, professional, and responsive programs to support student career pathway engagement opportunities and support area economic and workforce development needs. The Consultant will work in a collaborative team environment and report directly to the Director, College and Career Readiness Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Recruit and gain commitment from business leaders to support career readiness efforts with an emphasis placed on targeting high need industry sectors that are representative of various career clusters
● Perform direct project work related to Youth Apprenticeship grant requirements including; student recruitment, student interviews, employer recruitment, and ongoing student evaluations.
● Perform direct project work related to Inspire programming aligned to district Academic and Career Planning targets including; creating and engaging students and educators in virtual and in-person experiential learning opportunities requested by partner organizations.
● Create and facilitate a regional advisory council to assist in the strategic planning process for program implementation.
● Gather data and monitor progress tied to specific targets of engagement for students, educators and employers.
● Maintain client relationships and generate new service contracts to meet district/employer needs and sustain the College and Career Readiness Center department financial requirements.
● Develop and deliver relevant forms of training opportunities to stakeholders.
● Professionally represent the agency and public, private and parochial school districts in interactions with staff, customers, and community.
● Collaborate with local/regional/state advisory groups, economic development boards, Chambers of Commerce, community based organizations and higher education partners to promote Career and Technical Education programs.
● Provide support for plan improvements, implementations or eliminations to College and Career Readiness Department (i.e. Career Pathway Development, Youth Apprenticeship, Dual Credit, ACP/Education for Employment, Carl Perkins and Professional Development Opportunities).
● Ensure records, state reports and evaluation requirements are maintained for department programs.
● Provide monthly program updates to the Director, College and Career Readiness Center to ensure strong communication regarding department initiatives.
● Attend appropriate conferences, workshops and in-services.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
● Take responsibility for professional growth based on feedback, research and best practice.
● Seek opportunities to present at local and state level conferences.
● Manage the project management online tool(s) required for job function (Xello, SMApply, Hubspot, PandaDoc,Formstack, Agency employee portal)
● Provide growth coaching as applicable for educators and administrators.
Experience, Education and Licensure:
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Counseling, Business Management or Marketing is preferred.
● Prior experience working in Career and Technical Education and/or School Counseling Services at the middle school or high school level is preferred.
● Previous experience with Youth Apprenticeship programming preferred.
● Experience with building and sustaining partnerships among businesses, community agencies, K-12 schools, and higher education is preferred
