The Wisconsin Rapids Public School (WRPS) District is accepting applications for the position of Associate Principal at Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School located at 1921 27th Avenue South in Wisconsin Rapids. The start date for the position is around the first week in August, 2022. The Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School (WRAMS) serves a student population of approximately 1,050. Staff members work together in collaborative teams at the middle school to meet the unique academic, social, physical, and emotional needs of these young adolescents. The Middle School Associate Principal (AP) provides building leadership with a primary focus on student learning and behavioral supports. Working closely with the Building Principal and another AP in the building, the Associate Principal helps facilitate a shared vision, collaboration among all staff members, and works in a proactive fashion to meet the needs of students and staff while effectively utilizing available resources and maintaining a safe, supportive school climate. The position requires an advanced degree in educational administration (Master’s or higher) with an emphasis in school administration, supervision, school business administration, curriculum educational measurement, personnel administration, and school law; plus a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience and three years or more of demonstrated, successful experience in leadership roles. A valid Wisconsin teaching and a principal license (#51) is required. Please provide 3 letters of recommendation. Only candidates licensed by the August 1, 2022 start date need apply. Ideal candidates will be well organized and have strong knowledge/expertise of student behavior and motivation. Skill in being a flexible, approachable problem solver lends itself to success in this position. The successful candidate will have demonstrated sound judgment, social competency, self-confidence, emotional maturity, initiative, enthusiasm and resourcefulness, and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, staff, parents, and members of the community.
