Title I Reading Interventionist (Full-Time Position) Duties would include but are not limited to: • Collaborate with the elementary counselor, special education director, district interventionist, and elementary principal to provide systematic targeted and intensive interventions to students not making progress in literacy. • Small group/individual work with students and communicating plans with teachers and parents. • Breaking down data within the FastBridge and eduCLIMBER data systems. • Reviewing statewide data and sharing the results with teams. • Collaborating with PLCs and grade level teams to address the data story. • Work with the elementary counselor, elementary principal and the Title I coordinator to administer the fall, winter, and spring Early Reading assessments to primary students. • Assist teachers in administering the PALS, FastBridge, and Fountas & Pinnell assessments as directed. • Collaborate with the district interventionist to review FastBridge and Fountas & Pinnell data, assisting teachers to determine which students need interventions and which interventions are needed for those students. • Collaborate with teachers to administer interventions and monitor progress. • Administer interventions with emphasis on primary grades or grades with the greatest need. • Research efficacy of existing interventions, and find new interventions as needed. • Attend Student Support Team (SST) meetings to examine students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress. • Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, progress monitoring, and screening data. • Coordinate with the director of special education, elementary principal, district interventionist, and elementary counselor to establish and implement the district’s RTI process at the elementary level. • Collaborate with the reading specialist to align reading standards and implement new reading resources. ---------------------- The School District of Spring Valley is a small district in western Wisconsin with PK-12 all on one campus. The campus is located on beautiful, rural acreage two miles from downtown. The modern high school with middle school wing for grades 6, 7, and 8 was built in 1998. The newly built elementary school opened in the fall of 2021. The district is technology-rich with all students and staff having one-to-one Chromebooks and laptops, mini-labs, and iPads, in addition to 4 traditional computer labs. The district also has the latest in livestreaming technology, 3D printers, and various other task-specific technology resources. A robust commercial WiFi system is available throughout the buildings. The school district offers strong academics and co-curricular activities with students receiving state level recognition in a wide variety of activities. There are 385 children in PK-5 and 376 students in grades 6-12. Average class size is 20 students for middle and high school. The school district staff consists of 3 administrators, 54 teachers, and 52 support personnel. The school district has not raised its insurance premiums in 10 years. The Board of Education is currently implementing the district's strategic plan with goals of competitive employee pay and benefits, adding new extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities for students, and the possibility of a new/renovated athletic complex. The Village of Spring Valley has about 1,300 residents. It offers a wide range of services including a community theater and public library, and medical, dental, optometric, and chiropractic practitioners. Spring Valley is also home to an impressive 18-hole golf course. New residents have moved to Spring Valley attracted by the natural scenic beauty of our rugged tree-covered river valleys and the surrounding rolling countryside. On the edge of the Village is the Army Corps of Engineers’ 650-acre Eau Galle Recreation Area, providing opportunities for fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, camping, and horseback riding. Spring Valley lies eight miles south of I-94 between two college towns: UW-RF in River Falls, 20 miles to the west, and UW-Stout in Menomonie, 20 miles to the east. The shopping, professional sports facilities, international airport, educational institutions, and cultural events of the Twin Cities are just an easy hour’s drive away.
Required qualifications: • Valid and appropriate teaching licensure from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (Reading 316 preferred). • Knowledge of Common Core State Standards, Professional Learning Communities, co-teaching, RTI, inclusion, and SST meetings. • Ability to assume responsibility and work with others in a positive manner.
