The Green Bay Area Public School District is seeking applicants interested in being considered for a Facility Technician 2 position at Aldo Leopold K-8 School. Our Facility Technician 2 is responsible for performing the necessary functions to maintain a neat and presentable appearance both inside and outside the School District buildings, grounds, and equipment. Deals tactfully and maintains satisfactory relationships with all people encountered in normal course of job duties. 11. Prioritizes and organizes work schedules and areas of responsibility. 12. Performs routine custodial work as necessary in order to maintain a neat and organized building including, but not limited to the following: •Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing. •Cleaning and polishing filing cabinets, bookshelves, lockers, handrails, furniture and all other office and schoolroom equipment. •Polishing brass and other metalwork such as doorknobs, push plates, handrails, nameplates, kick plates, etc. •Emptying waste baskets, trash boxes, and other refuses containers and disposes of the waste 13. Sets up for school and after school activities for school sponsored or outside rental groups. 14. Moves chairs, decorations, materials and supplies as directed. 15. Maintains gym floors, tile, terrazzo, wood, carpet, and concrete floors and stairways that are routinely part of the school operations. 16. Performs seasonal work including, but not limited to, maintaining lawns and shrubbery, operating snow removal equipment, and other related motorized grounds care equipment, applying ice melt, and cleaning up litter and roof debris. 17. Operates and maintains low-pressure boilers, air handling equipment, chillers, emergency generators, other mechanical equipment, and performs general maintenance of school buildings and grounds. 18. Operates and performs routine maintenance on chilled water-cooling systems incorporating compressors as large as 100 HP, associated cooling towers, motor generators, filtration and chemical feed systems. Maintains a daily log of data on chilled water cooling systems and files reports of data as required. 19. Operates automatic boilers, cleans out boiler flues and breaching. Maintains pumps and adjusts valves necessary to provide adequate heat and ventilation for the building. 20. Performs electrical work such as replacing switches, outlets and ballasts. 21. Performs plumbing work such as repairing faucets, repacking valves, and replacing flush valves. 22. Anchors, measures, and fastens material as requested. 23. Records operational data, compiles operational reports, maintains inventory of maintenance and custodial supplies, orders supplies as needed from storeroom list and keeps other necessary records. 24. Completes advanced training programs as required by supervisor. 25. Performs various custodial and/or maintenance tasks on the buildings or grounds of other District schools as assigned. 26. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required: Education: High School Graduate or equivalent Experience: Commercial cleaning and/or maintenance experience. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License Competency: Demonstrated proficiency on Facility Technician Test. Qualifications Desired: Experience: Working with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, mechanical equipment, pneumatic controls and/or Direct Digital Controls (DDC). Previous work analyzing system functions and exhibiting critical thinking skills. Working Conditions: 1. Work involves disruptions of daily schedule due to continuously changing situations. 2. Work involves frequent deadlines under pressure. 3. Work involves decision-making. 4. Work involves travel within the district. 5. Work involves lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50lbs.
