This position teaches various business and marketing courses, therefore the ideal candidate will have both licenses or be able to obtain both. In addition, this position teaches the yearbook class and coordinates the yearbook production and sales. Candidates must have a deep understanding and commitment to equity in instructional design (UDL). Candidates must be committed to our District Non-Negotiables. 1. All teachers will design instruction by knowing each individual Teacher Role Description PRIORITY I. Instructional Responsibilities a. Understand the academic, socio-emotional and cultural needs for success of each student. b. Plan instruction consistent with District approved curriculum for assigned subject area(s)/grade level(s). c. Plan, co-plan, and organize work in a manner to meet the academic, socio-emotional and cultural needs of individual students. d. Recognize and seek supportive help for students with special abilities or needs in accordance with District guidelines. e. Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor. f. Plan effective use of instructional time. g. Provide an environment that is conducive to learning, focused on learning and establishes high expectations for all learners. h. Provide an environment which fosters student health and safety. i. Maintain positive rapport with students and parents. j. Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in curricular activities. k. Maintain the records necessary for the efficient operation of the educational program. l. Maintain an awareness of current trends in education through professional developmental activities. m. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in content area through professional developmental activities. n. Actively participate in Supervision/Evaluation Program. PRIORITY II. Professional Responsibilities to District/profession a. Maintain productive working relationships with colleagues. b. Participate in peer coaching and other embedded professional development focused on instructional or service improvement. c. Reflect on individual, team and school practices and work to revise and implement practices within the continuous improvement model. d. Seeks out and participates in professional learning that supports individual practice, program and/or school improvement. e. Contributes to the professional development of others. f. Participate in the planning and evaluation of the schools' instructional program. g. Assist in the selection and requisition of books, instructional materials, and supplies. h. Read, acknowledge and follow all District, school and/or program policies and practices. PRIORITY III. Ancillary Services a. Maintain positive rapport with community. b. Encourage participation in and assist with school activities. c. Provide necessary care and management of equipment, materials, and facilities. d. Direct and evaluate the learning experiences of students in co-curricular activities.
